When sunset breathes its last breath we all look for the perfect location to swing the night away sipping at some sweet or savory concoction we call cocktail while treating the ears to some cool music. Magic nights at Casa Batlló promises to deliver just that in the unique atmosphere of Casa Batlló, the suggestive masterpiece of architect Gaudi.
It almost feels like a Barcelona version of Alice in Wonderland or Captain Nemo’s underwater world, this ceramic wonderland fantasy of Casa Batlló’s, especially on the noble floor with its stone columns in the shape of bones and balconies in the shape of masks. The design of these Art Nouveau rooms with their large oval-shaped feature windows, the magnificent modernist terrace outside, the torches and Venetian candelabra it all adds to the fairy tale atmosphere.
Once the modernist terrace is transformed into a musical venue hosting musicians, shows and DJ’s Casa Batlló really comes alive. The glow of the lights give it that magical extra for those who love the fantastic and theatrical. If you are in to cocktails make sure to quench your thirst with the pink or green juices of cocktail master Hèctor Henche – it seems that he knows to provide pleasure for even the most demanding palates- when you chill out on the terrace.
All of the above will set you back 29 euros p.p. that includes the entrance to Noble floor and the terrace, a beer or a cava and the music. My tip would be to go August, 1 to see Devyan Lynx, a band with music ranging from acoustic songs to rock and electronica.
Magic nights run from June 22 to September 23, 2012, from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 p.m. As an alternative you can also visit the whole house during the day and pay normal admission of €18.15 per person.
Why not check out the program if you want to give your night the Casa Batlló magical kick-off? http://www.casabatllo.es/en/visit-us/magic-nights/live-music/
